Is cancer an obstacle for pregnancy?

Professor Katarina Stefanović from the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of the University Clinical Center of Serbia told RTS that since the beginning of the year, around 3,400 babies have been born in our country. More positive changes in demographic policy, however, are also influenced by the fact that many people decide to become parents later and later, but also by the fact that more and more young people are suffering from serious diseases, which can threaten their reproductive health.

That’s why there is a unique Fertility and Oncofertility Center at GAK Višegradska, where patients from the country and the region can be treated. We are talking about a unique Center that cooperates practically with all clinics in the country and region, which deal with similar issues.

“The oncofertility center functions according to the principle of a council, but also of numerous counseling centers for oncofertility, where patients referred by a doctor or other institution come,” says Stefanović.
